Detailed Job Description:

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document. Provide hands-on design, development, and configuration of applications, visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholder teams to gather requirements for new dataset availability for self-service reporting and data analysis.
  • Leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data discovery, database design/implementation, and the use of statistical methods.
  • Establishes plans, schedules, and processes to manage on-time delivery of projects and produces regular progress reports of all activities for review and planning.
  • Deliver on the project roadmap, help drive the vision, and support the prioritization, ideation, and planning of the future business intelligence needs.
  • Maintain version control and own the change and release management process.
  • Define processes, standard operating procedures, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Preform QA on reports and devise and deliver testing plans and testing data to validate BI solutions, coordinate user testing for acceptance of BI solutions.
  • Manage Power BI administration activities including capacity creation and management, data connection creation and updating, user and group access provisioning, manage row level security.
  • Build advanced user and usage reporting capabilities.
  • Ingest data from a wide variety of sources and preform ETL to clean and process data for final consumption into Power BI.
  • Follow the latest Power BI releases and capabilities.
  • Assist, instruct, and coordinate the work of future developers.

Skills:

  • Expert in MS Power BI.
  • Solid understanding of DAX with significant experience coding complex DAX expressions
  • Prior experience facilitating conversations to translate business requirements into the technical data requirements needed to develop solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, comfortable and writing and debugging SQL queries and extracting from and querying large and diverse databases (e.g. Azure Databricks, Snowflake, Teradata, MS SQL server).
  • Advanced understanding of stored procedures
  • Advanced skills in data cleansing, profiling, modeling, integration, analysis
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in data modeling, data architecture and data warehouse design.
  • Power BI administration expertise
  • Understanding of both on-premises and a gateway
  • Need to be versed in security, setting up workspaces, creating data models, the cubes to support the data modeling, understand the limitations of the tool.
  • Power Query experience
  • Experience using APIs and API data transfer
