Job Seekers, Please send resumes to resumes@hireitpeople.com

Must haves:

  • M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a PH.D.
  • 2+ years of industrial work experience
  • Expertise in 1D sub model development, implementation, and validation
  • Knowledge/understanding of engine combustion or engine performance and emissions, or ICE-based hybrid system simulation.
  • Proficiency with the 1D engine/system simulation tools (e.g., GT Power, AVL Boost, Siemens Amisom, Ricardo Wave, Dynasty) applied to analyze and optimize engine and hybrid systems.
  • Hands-on engine test experience to complement simulation skill set.
  • Experience working with turbo chargers, air systems, or compressors.

Plusses:

  • 1D modeling of hydrogen combustion systems
  • Experience integrating engine models into hybrid power system and vehicle simulations.
  • Experience with modeling combustion of low-Carbon/zero-Carbon fuels

Job Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will have the technical skills, initiative, and communication skills necessary to execute and deliver on simulation technology development projects in the energy and power systems space.
  • Create 0D/1D engine and hybrid power system models, to simulate both liquid and gaseous low-C fuels (e.g., hydrogen, methanol, ethanol, DME, OME, etc.) in off-road machine applications.
  • Use 0D/1D power system and machine models to integrate, evaluate and optimize novel engine and hybrid components and subsystems.
  • Utilize 0D/1D system simulation to optimize hybrid power systems configurations against multiple off-road transient duty cycles
  • Compare/validate simulation results to both physical engine test data (both single and multi-cylinder engines including optical engines) identify gaps in predictive capability or propose solutions to improve engine/power system performance.
  • Develop, implement, and test new sub models for improved prediction of engine performance and emissions from 0D/1D simulation tools.
  • Report simulation results and make recommendations to improve engine performance or resolve issues.
