Job Duties:
- The position is a vital and very visible position within our operations you will report directly to the Chief Correspondent. You are expected to lead and manage the planning, production, and presentation of the station’s news efforts. Build Teams in North America and set objectives for the PR team and monitor team’s performance to maximize brand presence in North America to cultivate and maintain contacts with Indian Americans living in North America. Also, organize PR events to increase awareness of Channel in North America.
- You will be required to handle a volume of out bound and in bound calls to network with individuals and businesses while actively using Hubspot CRM, Asana Task Manager and company phones.
- You will be collecting information, preparing a factual story and creating articles or broadcasts that impart information to the public. These stories often involve local, state, national and international topics on current events.
- Often you may be required to Host shows and carry cameras and take photos or video footage.
Additional Duties
- Collect and analyze facts about newsworthy events by interview, investigation, or observation. Report and write stories for newspaper, news magazine, radio, or television.
- Receive assignments or evaluate leads or tips to develop story ideas.
- Research a story's background information to provide complete and accurate information.
- Arrange interviews with people who can provide information about a story.
- Establish and maintain relationships with individuals who are credible sources of information.
- Report news stories for publication or broadcast, describing the background and details of an event
- Directs the gathering and production of news content on-air and online.
- Leads the use of digital tools to enhance news gathering and dissemination.
- Generates assignments and evaluates news leads and news tips to develop stories.
- Ensures the accuracy of news programs.
- May edit news material and reporter submissions; prepares and writes stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.
- Supervises and oversees the training of department personnel.
- Interacts with senior management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in the accomplishment of established goals.
- Serves on search committees and other employment-related committees as required.
- Monitor’s equipment usage and ensures the maintenance of equipment inventories.
- Participates in the development and management of annual operating budgets and provides fiscal input for the department
Education: The minimum qualification required for the performance of the above occupation duties is a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, IT, Computer Science or equivalent in a related field or a foreign equivalent is required closely related field with relevant experience.
