Detailed Job Description:
  • The Senior Systems Analyst works at the agency enterprise level to complete IT and Data systems analysis.

This position reports directly to the Systems Analysis Manager on the Digital Transformation Team, responsible for:

  1. Cultivating and managing business relationships to the end of presenting technology and data solutions to solve their business problems.
  2. Serving as business relationship manager of specialized business areas and provides strategic guidance and leadership for organizational change.
  3. Developing relationships with IT and Data practitioners in the IT organization, as well as the Data Governance Manager, IT Project Managers, and QA Testers, to develop detailed requirements for use by these teams in developing technology and data solutions for business areas.
  4. Serving as tech and data translator to the business and business translator to IT and Digital Transformation org.
  5. Focusing on reengineering systems, quality, and efficiency improvements; must be able to identify root causes and break down siloes between business areas to identify solutions.
  6. Working with others to plan out full interoperability of INDOT systems, data, and processes.
  7. Documenting robust business and user requirements at a level of tech-to-business translation that will not lead to defects in testing; must be able to identify all areas requiring a solution so that there are no gaps and breaks.
  8. Planning advanced integrations at the enterprise and detail levels, including all research and strategic planning within governance to develop requirements thoroughly.
  9. Contributing to digital transformation strategic planning.
  10. Managing expectations of customers, peers, vendors, and management.
  11. Assisting in leading digital transformation culture change as the tip of the spear of the INDOT Digital Transformation Team.
  12. Following established governance, and evangelizing it at INDOT.
