Baseline Responsibilities:
- Drive the design and development of mechanical systems and components to meet customer requirements.
- Use CAD software to create detailed drawings and specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies, trade studies, and prototyping activities.
- Analyze and evaluate designs for strength, durability, cost, and performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality control, and suppliers.
- Support production, testing, and validation of prototypes and final products.
- Continuously improve design processes and methodologies.
- Stay current with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor and train junior engineers.
- Represent the company in customer and industry meetings.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the design engineering team.
Technical Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 9 or more years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Deep knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or ProE.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage technical aspects of the project.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and direction to the design engineering team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
