Job Duties:
- Involve in qualifying new components and/or materials to reduce the cost of current HVAC units without impacting quality, reliability, performance, safety or any other critical system parameter.
- Create test plans, work with suppliers and internal engineers on design requirements, analyze test data and areas of risk, and provide recommendations on cost reduction options.
- Work on various projects, so they need to be able to establish project schedules, track timelines, adhere to deadlines, and stay on budgets.
- Manage projects through a gated governance process and present to review board members.
- Order equipment/components from suppliers, and then create test plans to test the components for reliability/efficiency, performance, etc.
- Review the generated test data and make recommendations on which components should be selected to replace existing components.
- Involve in mix of engineering analysis, hands on testing, and project management.
- Collaborate with designers to specify new components/parts and review bill of materials, taking into consideration feedback from manufacturing, marketing, quality, and service parts in the final design.
- Work with others on design teams to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, sub-systems and products.
- Understand cooling systems (including refrigeration psychometrics); and electrical system requirements in order to assess internal data and supplier data.
- Collaborate with Quality/Reliability/Manufacturing/Sourcing to implement key metrics into the design of the product and ensure all reliability design goals are achieved.
Education: The minimum qualification required for the performance of the above specialty occupation duties is a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or equivalent in a related field or a foreign equivalent is required closely related field with relevant experience.
