Minimum Requirements:

Required skills and abilities:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the administration of SharePoint (SP) Server 2007/2010/2013, IIS 6 & 7, ASP.net applications.

- Experience administering SP environment configuration, site collection creation, sub site and page configuration.

- Experience administering Fast Search for SP 2010 server farms. 

- Experience creating InfoPath forms, implementing custom work flows, and custom web parts.

- Experience working with and developing Business Data Connectivity (BDC).

- Experience consuming, or creating standard web services from the web platform or SP platform.

- Proficient in Visual Studio 2010/2012.

- Proficient with .NET C#, ASP.NET, Powershell.

- Knowledge and practical experience of applications development in a distributed database environment.

- Familiarity with VMWare virtualization technology.

- Familiarity with NetApp storage solutions.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

- Excellent customer service skills, including written and verbal communications.

- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.

 

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with SharePoint 2013 is a plus.

- Experience with SQL Server 2008/12 administration and TSQL language.

Description:

The State of NC is seeking to fill a short-term SharePoint (SP) Administrator contract position with SP development experience.

 

Position will work with NC Project members to assist with implementing processes, tools to facilitate collecting & organizing historical Transportation Systems Administration Content and associated metadata in the DOT Content Management System. . 

 

Candidate must have strong development background; be able to produce prototypes, patterns, and standards for WS development team to follow.

 

Candidate will collaborate with WS developers, IT managers, TSAC members, and other business peers to create and enforce SP governance policies, best practices and standards.

Candidate will demonstrate experience in administering and managing SP team/web sites.

- Maintain SP and Fast Search farms: monitor daily, troubleshoot and performance analysis.

- Participate in configuration and maintenance of libraries, lists, site collections and search optimization.

- Perform typical system administrative activities (site creation and infrastructure issue resolution).

- Monitor SP performance and work with Integration Team to resolve performance issues.

- Assist developers/designers to prototype/implement best practices within SP.

- Participate in establishing controls, standards and procedures for SP environment.

- Responsible for completing documentation.

- Coordinate with developers and designers to standardize, optimize data/information storage and retrieval.

- Work with Enterprise Architecture group to help implement NCDOTs information architecture.

- Act as gatekeeper of production environments; code review/approve solution deployments; implement, monitor production changes; 

establish and administer process for monitoring developer access to production environment.

- Assist in managing/monitoring proper authorization, authentication, and governance within SP environment.

- Knowledge transfer to team members is part of team environment.
