Complete Description:

This position is located in the District of Columbia, Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). The purpose of the contractor position is to provide project management consulting services to assist OCTO leadership within specialized focus areas. The mandate of this function will be to support the planning, organizing, analyzing and evaluation of the implementation of information technology initiatives and projects identified by the agency leadership.  This is a part time position requiring experience in organizational and technology management.  Experience within the DC Government technology environment is highly desired.

 

MAJOR DUTIES

 

This contractor position will support and enhance agency leadership in the planning, organizing, analyzing, and structuring of new projects to ensure alignment with OCTO’s operational goals and strategic initiatives. This position may be required to support planning and adoption of improved operational models to help agency leadership maximize the accuracy and flow of business information and additional centralization and unification of services. 

 

Also supports program activities by assisting with the implementation of industry best practices to support the development of plans and schedules, estimates for resources requirements, the definition of project milestones and deliverables, the monitoring and evaluation of relevant accomplishments.

 

The resource’s expertise will also be used to identify process improvements in the operation of business services and technology procurement planning to deliver increased efficiencies through potential process and/or technology improvements.

 

Keeps abreast of current practices and trends in information technology and management principles to assist OCTO program leads with bringing about technology management improvement for external agency partners. Assists OCTO in the development of new business services as well as introducing standards for process improvement to the manner in which requisitions for goods and services are purchased as well as offering improved business service functions that OCTO offers to other departments.

 

Contributes as a value-added resource for special projects required by agency executive leadership. May be required to help plan and debut new services to meet requirements of new initiatives by the agency director and government leadership.

 

This is not a full-time position.
