Complete Description:

The Office of the Chief Technology Officer seeks a technical contractor to provide a senior project manager resource with strong technical expertise, operating within the governance of  DCNET’s project management office (PMO), who will oversee federal related project effort and solution delivery responsibilities. This includes all deliverables, activities and tasks relating to architecture, infrastructure, and solution component integration. This individual will operate as a primary DCNET technical interface with existing DCNET clients and potential clients. A successful candidate for this position will be able to expertly apply project management processes and principles across the network infrastructure deployment lifecycle.

 

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

•             Build constructive business relationships with senior business stakeholders and ensure project support and commitment

•             Identify and communicate project vision, goals and objectives

•             Define project scope, deliverables and roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners

•             Assign and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget

•             Oversee all project activities across both the technical and business perspectives

•             Understand, track and articulate issues / risks / action items; work with responsible owners to address the items on a timely basis; update the appropriate stakeholders as needed

•             Establish relationships with technical teams in other lines of businesses to clearly identify and manage project interdependencies

•             Manage scope throughout the project duration. Maintain accurate program estimates, timelines, work plans, status reports

•             Resolving conflicts by demonstrating leadership and appropriate decision-making competencies

•             Identifying resource needs and negotiating with cross-agency leadership to secure necessary resources and cooperation

•             Expertise in project management discipline and techniques

•             Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels

•             Plan budgets for equipment, resources and vendors

•             Design and implement processes to monitor and control resources, budget, risks and quality
