The Web Designer/Developer will be responsible for the graphic design and layout for the development of the website redesign.

Local Candidates are preferred.

 

Complete Description:

The Arkansas Administrative Office of the Courts is in process of redesigning the entire Judiciary Website for the State of Arkansas.  This position will be a part of a team working on this project.  The Web Designer will be the lead person responsible for the graphic design and development of this website.

 

The contract position will be a fully dedicated web designer and developer.  This is a front-end heavy role and the candidates must have strong experience with the Drupal CMS, PHP, CSS, HTML/XHTML, Javascript and JQuery. Candidates should also have knowledge and experience writing MySQL queries and have the ability to access and extract data from a database. This position is also responsible for both the technical aspects of website programming and the functional aspects of gathering software requirements from departments and translating those requirements into web-based resources.

 

Must provide URLs/portfolio showcasing web design examples and HTML/CSS development.

 

Typical Functions

-              Design mock-ups and develop them into full pages complete with CSS/HTML.

-              Develop and support all graphics for the Web based applications.

-              Participate in design and architecture of software to meet business requirements.

-              Works closely with programmers to communicate functionality and execute the design.

-              Test design on required browsers and platforms.

-              Migrate website to Drupal technology.

-              Develop and implement modules in Drupal supporting web application functionality as necessary to meet requirements / design.

 

Skills/ Requirements

-              A solid understanding of modern, responsive web design, site navigation, layout of online content, web concept developing and interactive design.

-              Ability to convert PSDs into pixel-perfect CSS/HTML.

-              Advance knowledge of HTML/XHTML , CSS  and table-less design.

-              Strong expert level coding skills in PHP, MySQL, JQuery and Javascript.

-              Experience with Drupal site administration and configuring modules.

-              Familiar with Drupal template system and database abstraction layer.

-              Web graphic design proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver or an equivalent program.

-              Knowledge of cross browser compatibility and code optimization.

-              Strong grasps of design fundamentals (fonts, color, layout, etc.)

-              Ability to communicate with both highly technical and non-technical personnel of the courts.

-              Strong technical/analytical skills.

-              Willingness to learn new tools and techniques for web development.
