This temporary position will provide technical support in the areas of database administration, SQL programming, data integration (and ETL Tools) application requirements, design and development, and software lifecycle development processes.   This position will make significant contributions to developing and updating SQL database programming scripts (and use of ETL Tools as appropriate) to addressing our data integration requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

•          Design new software and databases scripts to address data integration requirements using SQL programming and ETL Tools as appropriate.

•          Work closely with the software team to develop, maintain and support software applications in the areas of database design and SQL scripts. 

•           Follow established standards and controls necessary to ensure operating efficiency (optimization of databases and application software’s use of databases). 

•          Adhere to software quality assurance standards of database design, object naming conventions, SQL scripts and documentation including code comments and cross-reference reports of scripts used in application software.

•           Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).

•          Working closely with Software managers, other Database Administrators, database programmers, web developers and solutions architects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•          Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field is required.

•          Must be experienced professional with three to five years of experience.

•          Strong oral and written communication skills.

•           Three years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server in a DBA, SQL Programmer or Data Integrations (ETL) capacity.

•           Knowledge of relational database technology, transaction processing procedures and advanced modeling and design tools.

•          Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential.

•           Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

•           Knowledge of MS Office, SQL Server, Transact-SQL, and Data Integration (ETL) Tools is desired.

•           Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
