The Senior Technical Architecture Specialist (STAS) is the technical expert centered on a technology, technologies, or a portfolio of applications.
The Principal responsibility is to provide highly effective technical support for DTI’s technical infrastructure. Highly effective means that the services for the assigned assets are provided in a way that is efficient, meets the needs of the customers (both DTI and other state agencies) in compliance with DTI policy and procedures. The services will be primarily rendered through a combination of personal effort, joint effort with others in the workgroup, and collaboration with other DTI staff, vendors, and customers.
The Architecture Specialist is expected to possess strong technical proficiency in one or more of the core Technology Domains, technical proficiency in several others, and technical awareness in the rest.
The Architecture Specialist will report to the Systems Engineering Manager – Client Server.
The Technology Domains for this position is VMware & Private Cloud Computing.
Experience in technically supervising a project.
Candidate must be able to accept a design and set of directions and requirements and see through to fulfillment.
Ability to process requests for resources from multiple projects in timely and orderly manner.
This candidate will manage technical team resources as necessary to successfully delegate lower tier project tasks.
Provide daily updates to team managers and or project managers as required to measure project progression.
Requirements:
VMWare versions 5.0 and 4.0, Windows expertise with Linux knowledge, Server builds, Blade Server Management, Storage Area Networking, host based firewalls, DMZs, Oracle and SQL, SharePoint exposure.
