Description:
Own the engineering of the MSSB Shared Actuate &
Business Objects plants. Interface with the engineers that own associated
services such LDAP, databases, web servers, windows administration, and
network, etc..
Work with the operations teams to providing run books, operating procedures
& processes, and planning activities.
Provide tier-3 support upon escalation.
Work with application development teams to onboard them, perform upfront design
reviews & guidance, perform subsequent code reviews, and troubleshoot
application problems.
Plan major upgrade activities. Monitor patch release notes, summarize relevant
fixes, and plan patch upgrade activities.
Continuously improve performance and efficiency by implementing application
monitoring, periodic system health reports, and identifying improvement
opportunities. Perform periodic system health reports and identify issues and
opportunities.
Build automation to improve operations efficiency & quality such as
automating deployments and tooling to simplify troubleshooting and routine
administrative activities.
Oversee development of test suite to regression test environments after changes
to assess before/after performance and functional impact.
Directly develop SDK applications for deploying, archiving, authenticating,
monitoring, administering, and testing.
Ticket all engineering driven changes, write test plans, and verify successful
implementation.
Able to write specifications and provide supervision to offshore/vendor
resources.
Train or mentor others as appropriate on specific area of systems expertise; assist in development of training materials and/or conduct training.
