Support the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) Traffic Section staff in router/switch hardware replacement, system integration and support of statewide communication peripherals, including end-to-end management of streaming video systems.

Telecom duties include:
•             Planning and implementing redundancy to future or next generation technologies in ways that meet business needs.  
•             Perform and configure port-based, protocol-based, and MAC-based VLANs.
•             Provide switch architecture, configuration, installation, backup/recovery, and monitoring.
•             Perform diagnostics on switches, Command Line Interface structure.
•             Responsible for configuring port parameters, layer-2 forwarding, and port load sharing.
•             Configure static IP forwarding and IP routing functions.
•             Provide and perform advanced  troubleshooting steps for layer-2 and layer-3 networks. 
•             Create system documentation for troubleshooting, business continuity, and maintenance. 
•             Collaborate with Fiber team to understand field device and operations impact of any known outages or upcoming project.
•             Assist with advanced deployment and support of ITMS Core switching, Fiber, VWZ circuit, 4.9Ghz, 802.11 and CDMA/LTE. 

Video/CCTV duties include:
•             Perform internal software administration for streaming video applications. 
•             Support video PTZ/Matrix control to ensure protocol compatibility from center to field. 
•             Provide video wall control support for the TMC Operations Center. 
•             Implement and support portable cameras for traffic use (Trailer mount, dashboard, etc.). 
•             Design, implement, and support streaming video platform (CCTV/VSOM/Wowza) while accounting for growing internal/external scale. 

Combined Telecom/Video duties include:
•             Testing of hardware, peripherals and associated equipment.
•             Independence and diligence in completing work in a timely manner.
•             Proposing and documenting new design solutions to problem areas.
•             Monitoring of work tasks, and reporting on statuses of those tasks to management.
•             Creates and updates relevant documentation in supporting the enterprise. 
•             Assist Traffic design with network requirements, quoting, implementation and ongoing support to bring online new ITMS devices (cameras, signals, WTMC repeater sites, detection, etc.).

Qualifications:
The candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in computer hardware implementation, troubleshooting, and support. 
           
•             Advanced knowledge of Windows/Linux platform operations, hardware/software functions and capabilities.
•             Prior experience in configuring and maintaining optimized streaming video protocols on various platforms.
•             Prior experience in estimating and scheduling own work under minimal supervision.
•             Proven track record of resolving all assigned issues in accordance with established service level agreements.
•             Prior experience documenting configurations/processes/troubleshooting efforts.
•             Prior experience in VLAN & WAN architecture/design.
•             Prior experience working in a fast-paced team environment.

Candidate will be required to travel in the support role throughout the state as required for ITMS site/field visits.
