Healthcare Architect

The incumbent will research, architect, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software including Health Information Technology and data analytic solutions. Incumbent is involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards with a particular focus involving Healthcare and data analytic solutions. Incumbent evaluates interfaces between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.

Incumbent leads all stages of system development efforts, including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing and support. Incumbent communicates with executive management presenting architecture design and system recommendations.   

Incumbent is well versed in the Healthcare domain where healthcare information is exchanged between federal bodies and healthcare systems using common standards and resources.  
 
Skills Requirements:

Healthcare

Experienced in integrating various Healthcare entities including Payers, CMS, IHE, Hospitals, Labs, Radiology, and other Federal Agencies utilizing emerging interoperability health it standards and methodologies. Well versed in Integration Engines (e-gate, cloverleaf), Decision Support System, Patient Matching, Evidence Based Medicine, eHealth Exchange CONNECT and DIRECT, Personalized Genomics, Vocabularies and Concept mapping (ICD9 to ICD-10, SNOMED, LOINC, CVX, CPT), EHR (e.g. Cerner, Epic, AllScripts), and Radiology Imaging (DICOM, MRI/CT).

Experienced in Health IT standards for HL7 (CDA, RIMBAA) and HITSP.  Familiar with Office of the National Coordinator Standards and Interoperability Framework (ONC S&I Framework) initiatives such as Transitions of Care (ToC), Laboratory Result Interface (LRI), Public Health Reporting, Query Health and Data Segmentation for Privacy (DS4P).

Data Analytics

Incumbent has a strong working knowledge with Hadoop & HDFS, R with RStudio & Shiny, ElasticSearch with Lucene, MongoDB, CouchDB, HBase, Hive, Apache Drill, Impala, Storm, Presto, Cassandra, Accumulo, Spark, Mahout, Rattle, Weka. Incumbent is knowledgeable in Python and SAS.

Application Development

Agile, Scrum, remote collaborative development 
Integrated development environments (Eclipse JDT and plug-ins, NetBeans,) 
Source control systems e.g. Git, Subversion, Mercurial 
Continuous integration including use of Jenkins.

More Detail- Minimum experience and education: Candidates with a BS degree must have the minimum of  11 years or 132 months of work experience specific to the job description.  

 

If a candidate has a  Master’s degree, they still need a minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience but only nine years or 108months of experience specific to the job.  The other work experience to meet the 132 months does not have to be IT related.

Work experience while in college can be counted toward the overall years.

 

If no degree, work experience may be substituted.

Background clearance: All candidates selected will have to go through a Federal government background check prior to being able to start.  Generally, the background process takes between 3,4 or 5 weeks. The time is dependent on how quickly the candidate is able to complete the paperwork.

Candidates will obtain a Public Trust clearance upon approval.
