The Project Manager will manage a portfolio of projects
and will be tasked with managing multiple projects for different business
partners, providing project status updates, and delivering projects on-time and
within budget. This role is primarily focused on providing business solutions
utilizing software applications on a mainframe system, but some distributed
software development is also involved. We seek a `team` oriented individual
with solid Project Management skills. Also required are excellent communication
skills which are necessary to interface with a wide range of customers, system
and business partners across multiple domestic and international locations.
Responsibilities:
Monitor project to ensure project delivery on-time and within budget
Strong understanding of the Project Lifecycle and accountable for the results
of all applicable Project Life Cycle deliverables
Must be `self-motivated` and capable of managing multiple projects and
priorities
Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical departments
Communicate with other management, developers, product managers, and technical
support specialists
Must be able to organize and facilitate project planning, meetings, release
planning, resource planning
Track and communicate team status and progress
Maintain and drive project and process documentation
Ensure the development teams are creating and maintaining project documentation
Maintain trusted relationships with business partners
Able to be highly productive in Waterfall (FSDM) or Agile project delivery
environment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of related project management experience in financial services,
systems development, product development, and/or project/product management
PMP Certification preferred
Proven track record of excellent project management skills demonstrated for
complex interrelated or technically oriented projects
Critical thinker with good judgment and initiative
Must be a `team player`
Flexibility with shifting priorities among several simultaneous projects in a
highly dynamic and results-oriented environment
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
strong relationship management and facilitation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with business and technical
team members across the organization
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience working in an Agile/Waterfall environment is required
Strong background and experience in mainframe systems and technologies, in
particular COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, Utilities, ChangeMan., etc.
A minimum of 3 years in experience with projects building interfaces between
mainframe legacy applications and new technology.
