Python Backend Sr. Developer

Project Summary


Client company is a news aggregator. They acquire news content from their partners and distribute to their mobile consumers via mobile app. They have a Python engine at the backend to source the text, images and video content, correlate text with videos for viewing on the mobile app. They need Persistent to help with one Python senior engineer to begin with.

Responsibility


- Design, development and maintenance of backend application and its components, services
- Design should consider scalability in terms of high volume high transaction rate
- Identify potential performance bottlenecks, analyze/troubleshoot and fix them by making code changes or design changes

Job Description


- Very good communication skills
- Very good analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have: experience with Python backend components, including databases, web services
- Must have exposure to working on highly scalable applications/services

Key Technical Skill


- Strong CS fundamentals
- Very good Python backend knowledge
- Fluency in working in Linux environment
- Exposure to RDBMS, NoSQL DBs
- Experience in working on highly scalable systems
