On Site Project Manager/Lead for OpenLAB CDS EZChrom
As the on-site PSL R&D Project manager you will manage the relationship between local Santa Clara functions (Product management, R&D, QA and Support) and the PSL development (R&D and QA) teams in Pune, India.
You would be expected to manage projects through the Software Lifecycle including all required docs and check points. You are expected to lead both the CPE and NPI project teams through project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Controlling and Closing.
Your Management responsibilities would involve:
1. Working with the Product Owner to manage requirements and acceptance criteria. Communicate the same with the team in Pune.
2. Working with the cross functional team to find the best solution that balances the effort/cost with the delivery timeline.
3. Managing Timely project initiation, ensuring life cycle requirements are fully satisfied (project notebook audits pass)
4. Other dependencies are appropriately managed
Your delivery responsibilities would involve:
1. Timely execution of projects.
a. Ensure all requirements are delivered.
b. Ensure all acceptance criteria are met.
2. Working closely with the PSL teams to share their findings and investigations with the local team. It is your responsibility to give feedback to the PSL teams to drive these investigations to conclusion and complete the development.
3. Working on reactive support requests and if possible resolving them by investigating them onsite.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
Requirements:
1. Manage a offshore development team that delivers product patches and enhancements. This includes working closely with Product Management, Software Engineers and Support.
2. Meet project deliverables on time.
3. Manage & mentor technical delivery personnel.
4. Technical background to be able to understand issues raised by Support functions and the Pune development team. Requires a strong understanding of C++, MFC, Windows OS, .NET, ClearCase.
5. Needs the ability to make quick strong decisions.
6. A good understanding of Agilent products is highly desirable
7. Experiences as a developer as well as a project manager are desirable.
8. Experiences Agile Methodologies is desirable.
9. Participate in the management of work items and in project planning
Education and Experience:
1. A minimum of 4 years of experience in project management and minimum of 4 years of experience as MFC/C++ developer. Experience with Scrum and Kanban is a plus
2. A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a technical discipline is required.
3. Strong experience in program and project software lifecycle management.
4. Experience or background to work with and drive multi-cultural/multi-location teams.
5. Excellent communication skills orally and in writing.
