RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, analysis, development, implementation, and deployment of core insurance application, as well as providing support.
- Leads a team of programmer/analysts and developers.
- Possesses strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Work independently and within a team of developers to deliver end-to-end web solutions for moderate to complex projects in a fast paced environment.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members both onshore and offshore.
- Strong familiarity with .NET technologies and strong design skills. Previous experience in .Net 3.5 or higher, SQL Server 2008 or higher, OOP, XML/XSLT/XPATH, ADO.NET, C#, and Web Services is required. Working knowledge on HTML5, jQuery, and SharePoint is preferred.
- Develop and maintain the software framework and services using the .NET framework and Microsoft technologies.
- Contribute to and lead architecture and design activities.
- Interact with business analyst/Client(s) to understand business problem(s) being addressed by the project.
- Review project requirements and assess and estimate the necessary time-to-completion.
- Create unit test plans and scenarios for development unit testing.
- Work with peers to carry out code reviews and unit testing of new development.
- Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
- Interact with other development teams to ensure a consistent approach to software development.
- Closely follow software development best practices.
- Prepare technical design documents using enterprise standard documentation tools.
- Deploy all integration artifacts to a testing and production environment.
- Web development in Microsoft technologies: VB.Net, ASP.Net, C#, Ajax, XML/XSLT/XPATH, ADO.net, Object oriented programming.
- Software Development Life Cycle methodologies especially Agile Development methodology and scrum process.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel based reporting from web applications.
- Strong understanding of .NET Fundamentals (Interfaces, inheritance etc.).
- Develop ASP.Net web services, windows services and WCF.
- Experience with Visual Studio 2008 or higher, Source Control TFS 2008, SQL Server 2008. (2012 a plus).
- Working knowledge on HTML5, jQuery, and SharePoint is preferred.
- Experience with SSIS and SSRS.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Has a flexible perspective and willingness to expand technical skillset.
- Has proven experience in leading assignment/projects.
- Has demonstrated strong project planning skills.
- Has made a significant contribution to projects.
Education Requirements for the Position
A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher or Foreign Equivalent in a related field of Study is required with related experience.
