Job Description/ Responsibilities:
Responsible for manual and some automated testing of systems against accessibility requirements including Section 508 (as written in 1998) and Visa’s internal accessibility requirements which are based on WCAG 2.0 AA.
Follow Visa’s accessibility testing scripts and document defects in bug-tracking tools and software.
Work with Development and Project Management teams to ensure the issues are resolved in a timely manner. When the development team cannot solve an accessibility defect per the requirements and other documentation, research and create solutions and/or liaise with Visa Accessibility SMEs.
Communicate status frequently to everyone in the team
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of QA experience
- Experience testing web applications against Section 508
- Strong ability to collaborate
- Highly driven and resourceful
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0
- Familiarity with manual accessibility testing tools like WAVE, JuicyStudio, etc.
- Familiarity with screen readers including JAWS and VoiceOver
- Previous web accessibility testing experience a plus
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JS a plus
- Understanding of WAI-ARIA a plus
- WCAG 2.0 expertise and ability to solve accessibility problems a plus
