Publishing Services, an Agora Company, has an opportunity for a BI QlikView Developer to join our growing Marketing Intelligence team.  The BI QlickView Developer is responsible for technical development, implementation and support of the company’s core reporting services.  In this role you will employ the BI tool, Qlikview, and MS SQL development processes like SSIS and stored procedures, to efficiently extract and convert data from multiple sources into cohesive, accurate data-marts to be accessed by marketing and other business-driven reporting.

Responsibilities:

• QlikView Development
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst to design and code accurate, visualizing engaging and highly actionable reports and dashboards
  • Understand the business objectives and goals of every project and ensure that the business requirements are translated correctly in the code
  • Develop innovative Qlikview applications that enable business discovery and are technically sound in terms of performance and coding standards
  • Provide technical expertise, innovation and leadership in QlikView development to the internal team and external vendors
  • Support the internal team and the user community in all testing and QA processes
  • Grasp key concepts related to publishing, direct marketing and backend business operations to effectively apply in reporting development        
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing reporting applications to support the changing business needs

• Database Development and Maintenance
  • Collaborate with and support the data development team in the design, structure and implementation phases of key data-mart development initiatives
  • Design and develop SSIS packages, database objects, stored procedures and packages, views, tables, triggers and ETL code using coding standards and according to technical specifications
  • Design and develop MS SQL processes that extract data from multiple source systems including an EDW and an ERP 
  • Support all testing and QA processes to ensure correct application of logic from concept to production
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing SSIS jobs
  • Analyze and collaborate with database administrators to improve database strategies to maximize performance, capacity and security

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a QlikView Developer
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in MS SQL Database Development utilizing SSIS and writing complex stored procedures, queries, scripts, triggers, views, etc.
• Sound understanding of development best practices and methodologies, and reporting techniques
• Proven track record of implementing technical solutions under tight time, quality and performance standards.
• Verifiable reputation of service, reliability and ability to balance quality and quantity of work, as well as, clearly identify situations that present unacceptable business risk
• Excellent oral and verbal communication skills are needed with to be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• The ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
• Adaptability to rapidly evolving business needs and competing priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and work experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with a high volume transactional data like an Enterprise Resource Planning system is a plus
• Exposure to and understanding of a direct-to-consumer, marketing-driven business environment and its related data is a plus
• Understanding of BI methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling and data warehouse
