The Disaster Food Stamp web pre-application is utilized to collect the applicant’s pre-application information for the Disaster Food Stamp Program. When there is a disaster declared, the state may implement the Disaster Food Stamp Client Portal web pre-application system. This pre-application will be used for applying for disaster benefits for federally activated disaster periods such as hurricanes, tornadoes, storms, floods, snowstorms, drought, fires, explosions or other disasters. This pre-application information will be accessed by the worker while interviewing the applicant for Disaster Food Stamp benefits and used in decision making to determine eligibility for those people who live or work in the disaster area
Food Stamp web application:
The Food Stamp web application will provide a new intake interface application to deliver the DSS modernization effort of application components. The current MO Health Net web application will be modified to add Food Stamp web pages and attributes. This modified web application will enhance the agency’s current Family Assistance Management Information System (FAMIS).
From the perspective of DSS eligibility workers, this web application will provide increased efficiency to the application process by reducing the amount of time workers spend keying client information into the computer. Less keying of data will reduce data entry errors and create more time for eligibility workers to focus on the business. The Food Stamp web application will be available in English and Spanish.
