Description:
It controls the user’s access level to different intranet applications. It provides granular level access i.e. at page level/entity level and Field level access. Users and Groups can be created using this application and grant access level at user level or group level. It has the provision to grant access to all entities of a particular entity type. Whenever there is a new entity created, the user who has access to all entities will automatically get the access to it. Entities can be grouped on a particular attribute and can be given permission at group level. New entity type can be added and as and when a new entity is added it brings all the entities belong to that entity type. Similarly when all objects permission is granted for a user, whenever there is a new Field added to a particular page the user will automatically get access to it. From implementation side applications will check if the user has access to any of the objects belongs to a particular page and then it would check if the user has access to that entity. It would allow the user to view/Edit the particular sections of the page based on the permissions set in the Security Framework.

TACS is an MLX based web application to provide block trade allocation for Merrill’s institutional clients/Investment Managers. Trade executions come from broker side and the corresponding block and allocations comes from client side through Oasys/Omgeo and TradWeb. The execution and client block gets matched automatically based on certain criteria. Clients can as well upload the block and allocations that gets matched with the corresponding trades. Manual matching and manual affirm capability is provided for internal users and some of the external users. It has the facility to edit, split and merge the block trades. When the allocations ran into Account errors, users can correct the account details and resubmit. After the trades are allocated successfully the allocations get booked into clients accounts. Allocation services has different flavors of businesses, i.e. ISS for Fixed Income securities, BCC for Equity ,MMS for Money manager services for both Fixed Income and Equity ,GCS for Custody services, CPB and FIPB versions are for Prime broker business. These business entities are acted as an executing broker or Clearing Settlement service or Custody services etc.

Octane II would maintain the entire customer data and the applications for which they are entitled in the Portal. Octane II constantly interacts with MS Active Directory through Web Services and does real time update in Active Directory. An advanced reporting section is also included to run various customer related statistics on a weekly, monthly basis. Customer Usage is also tracked inside the portal and the data collected is used for application tuning. An add on tool called Bulk Upload is provided through which the users are uploaded into Active Directory via a plain vanilla Excel Sheet without even interacting with the web interface. There are more than seven external components to which the application needs to interact with and all is done through web services.
