Responsibilities:

  • This is an Artificial Intelligence Genetic Algorithms project being implemented with Angular 11+, dotnet 6.0 Core backend with latest C#, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
  • This architecture surpasses all current GA designs I have found and is expected to solve problems normally considered too difficult for most current AI, and it will solve these much faster.
  • This is being designed to focus on a wide range of application types (financial investment, manufacturing, science, ...) new: Clinical Research: some examples are Tumors, Stem-cell research, and Cancer.
  • As dotnet 6+ (Core) is a high performance cross-platform base, it is currently targeted for release on Azure; however, I am currently evaluating Angular/Blazor and WASM.

Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Focus was Angular front end, dotnet Framework CORE backend with Entity Framework (both implemented in C#) and SQL Server. I built the application atop an existing (incomplete) base and produced the only technical and non-technical documentation of the product and its architecture.
  • I successfully brought the application to production, fixed many problems, and continued toward additional releases.

Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • I was first brought on to work with a third-party UI Design company to create a user interface specification for a from the-ground-up restructuring of their shipment monitoring and tracking applications. I worked closely with the UI resource to define and build an Angular 2 set of tools to help implement the new look and feel.
  • From that point I became a key resource for implementation of both angular and backend components, which included dotNet Framework Core 3, entity frameworks, and SQL Server. I worked closely with a contract development team who had previously built backend portions of the initial application, which served as a starting point for the upgraded backend.
  • I then built many of the core Angular components and then have moved to implementing the specific (and ever-changing) look and feel while core Angular (“controller”) functions continued to grow. I was a key UI/UX front-end focused resource.
  • As would be expected, changes in functionality rippled across the application and would affect both Angular front-end and the dotnet Core backend and required the ability to change contexts on a moment’s notice.

Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Taught several Angular courses. Worked with a team to create a new development platform for current and future projects based on Angular 2.0. As some work was started in Angular 1.4/5, created a transition plan to Angular 2. As Angular 2 became more stable, project goals focused entirely on that platform.
  • Built models of Angular 2 framework that would be a starting point then worked on end-to-end scripting (Jasmine/Protractor), and Jasmine standalone scripts
  • Collaborative Consulting / Microsoft Gold Partner - Lead Software Engineer /2015 (contracting to other companies)

  • Note: client names have been withheld to protect Collaborative proprietary relationships.
  • Collaborative Internal Activities:
  • Used AWS (formerly ECS) as a platform for modeling prototypes as needed.
  • Worked on a Marketing Website and assisted in bringing up SharePoint 2013 self-hosted at CDSC, Winforms, ASP.NET, C#, Linq .
  • Provided technical support on migrating to new (SharePoint 2013-based) systems.
  • Developed and delivered courses (“Lunch and Learn”) in particular one on front-end developer (Bootstrap, jQuery, Analog 1.), others on Office 365 techniques and challenges including front-end-only apps (Javascript-based technologies).
  • The largest subproject was to assist client in combining many of their disparate databases and applications, which contained redundant and inconsistent product information. Analog and used SSIS to create an interim solution for migrating two systems. Using SSIS, we managed the process of correctly merging records into a single master. The bulk of my contribution revolved around a single SSIS step written in C# that dealt with parsing and processing data in a variety of forms including JSON and JSON-like formats.
  • Massachusetts Services Department C#, 3rd party app services, Linq, Angular
  • Mass department has been a long-time client of Collaborative working to improve all phases of their systems, which require tremendous amounts of manual effort. Our team (of 3) was asked to address a series of problems in the Fraud Investigation application. We were given a specific list of errors to resolve. My list dealt with incorrect or missing data, errors in letters, notices, and documentation, and others in functional errors and limitations to their use of the system.
  • Created an Angular app of the investigations in process and tracked the stages each case was in.
  • The company was moving their internal system to Office 365 and their IT group requested assistance in making this transition.
  • Initially, they requested a look-alike version of their existing system. I worked with them to define and implement one that better adapted to the Office 365 themes.
  • Legal was the first of their divisions to migrate. It first required IT to migrate 17,000 patent files without interrupting legal operations. As well, they had other issues (using InfoPath forms and use of an internally crafted complex workflows that could not be expanded) that needed to be addressed as a part of the “zero-time” transition.
  • I completely redesigned the workflows, migrated all tasks to them, and demonstrated them for approval by legal. I found alternative InfoPath solutions for them to consider, but they opted to take a non-Infopath approach to their data management.
  • Re-architected and implemented multiple patent processing workflows in Office 365.
  • Collaborative Domestic Solutions Center (CDSC) was tasked with in providing a faceted search facility using refinements. I supported and advised as needed.
  • Performed a detailed analysis and assessment of scoping for migration of 160 sites to SharePoint 2010. A summary report was produced with a time to complete estimate.
  • Developed a plan to perform the migrations in a shorter time by creating custom tools to assist with the unique customization requirements.
  • Implemented a robust migration tool in C# that analyzed the 2003 content database, determined what libraries should be migrated, and then created target locations for the libraries, which were consistent with MFS requirements, containing custom content types and additional meta-columns.
  • The C# migration tool created custom metadata and custom values for added meta-columns.
  • Utilized the migration tool to perform additional quality functions, such a site comparison to identify potential issues, powerful record selections followed by update of selected fields individually or in bulk, and semi-automated reporting of migration results.
  • Produced a comprehensive 80-page user guide, detailing all aspects of the migration process from beginning to end, including all tools used and screen shots.
  • Trained others in using the tools and understanding the process.
  • Performed migration steps for a total of 205 sites, including many complex, one-off sites.
  • Implemented customer processing functionality that interacted with third-party and internal sites via HTTP.
  • Designed and implemented caching to improve user experience when hosted on a single or multiple servers.
  • Implemented financial reporting, accessing data sources through HTTP from third-parties.
  • Produced five monthly reports from complex sets of data using HTTP, AJAX, and jQuery
  • Designed and prototyped an EXCEL Services solution that allowed background caching from a complex series of existing Excel sheets. The POC was extensive and contained all important current and evolving technologies.
