Description: Confidential,views the protection of Content throughout all stages of the Content life cycle as critical to the organization and as such maintains a Content Protection Framework (CPF) to protect Content in a manner consistent with its value, from the earliest stages of development onward. Viacom also makes every effort to ensure that appropriate controls are in place with all business partners and external vendors who create, transmit or distribute Viacom content to ensure that the consistency of Viacom’s CPF is implemented and maintained in a proper manner.

To facilitate the Viacom content protection programmed a content protection (CP) framework has been instituted. CP process begins when content is identified to be copyright protected in order to do so the content and respective metadata are crucial to generate the forensics and identifying infringements.

Various types of content that are copy protected are Download to Own, Broadcast, Online and DVD, Tent-pole events/Special events. This system protects content from being devalued by way of identifying pirated Viacom content that appears on the internet and other social media such as peer to peer networks and cyber lockers.
