Product development and software integration for Confidential’s Android mobile devices and tablets (Droid Razr, Droid 4, Droid Bionic, Droid X, Atrix, Droid 2 World Edition, Xyboard 10.1, Xyboard 8.2):

  • Conducted technical analysis, triaging, and debugging of power management and battery performance defects, including the management, tracking, coordination, and driving resolutions/fixes of such defects with various internal technology and hardware teams.
  • Served as the battery performance specialist on the New Jersey product integration team: providing technical analysis, support, and coordination of battery performance issues from internal Confidential (user trials and carrier validation testing) and external customer (Verizon) sources.
  • Coordinated and managed overseas resources in triaging and analyzing battery performance defects.
  • Managed several engineers from various software components to develop a power management feature for a Qualcomm baseband modem, which provided accurate power consumption reporting during radio functionalities.
  • Developed an Android Java application to cross-reference and scan for malicious power draining Google Play applications similar to how anti-virus software functions.
  • Enhanced Confidential’s radio interface layers (RIL) by adding support for GSM/UMTS telephony call processing and supplementary services for GSM, LTE and global devices.

Application development for the Android Dialer & Calling application team for Confidential’s early CDMA Android devices (Droid and Devour):

  • Implemented call lost tones, call lost notifications and auto retry features for the Dialer and Calling Android applications, resulting in the contribution of these CDMA specific features into Android open source code repository.
  • Analyzed, debugged and resolved various calling and dialer application defects such as UI defects, memory leaks, functional errors, force closures, Activity Not Responding (ANRs) errors and requirement gaps.
  • Developed an Android application that enabled easy and rapid access to favorite contacts from widgets on the Android home screen.

Device driver development and integration for Confidential’s CDMA Windows Mobile devices (A4500, Q9c, Q9m):

  • Responsible for the integration, implementation, and ownership of the device drivers for battery metering, fuel gauge, and battery charging functionalities. This involved working across cross-functional teams and vendor management with 3rd party overseas developers to drive deliverables and defect closures.
  • Developed and implemented Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) and Enhanced mini-USB (EMU) device drivers.
  • Provided technical expertise and supported the design and implementation of the accessory detection subsystem (ADS).
  • Provided on-site support for factory builds, launches, and ramp-ups with technical analysis, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Managed and supported 3rd party ISVs and ODMs for the product development and integration of Confidential ODM Windows Mobile devices (MPX-100, MPX-200, MPX-220 and the MPX). Responsibilities included driving defect resolutions with these ODMs, providing technical expertise, and serving as a communication liaison between US offices and these overseas vendors.
