Programmer/Analyst - FDIC September 1997 to December 1999
- Assigned to the Technical Architecture Group in support of the FDIC ETVPS and MAAP programs.
- Designed and programmed ActiveX components, using MS Visual Basic v5.0, MS SQL Server, Oracle and MS Access.
- Built component comprised of a Dynamic Link Library DLL that permitted the persistence of data to a structured storage file. This component followed the same theory for data persistence that was used in Microsoft Word and was developed to transform structured data to a unique data type for transmission from the remote client via Microsoft Message Queue to the FDIC Server.
- Developed component that served as an Accounting Control Key validation that emulated the FDIC mainframe validation version. The component relied on data replicated from the FDIC mainframe DB2 database to an Oracle database via MS Host Data Replicator. The preparation for this component required extensive interviewing of FDIC employees familiar with ACK validation process. Studied existing COBOL programs that executed the validation function that were required. Component fully utilized the transacting features of Microsoft Transaction Server MTS . The final component was a DLL that compressed and extracted data used in FDIC applications. The compression of data was necessary for transmission from client to a remote server.
- Designed components using Visual Modeler VM . Various classes, methods, and properties were initialized in VM and subsequently aided in generating the frame of the Visual Basic DLL. ERWin, a windows based flowchart package, was used to generate documentation for internal and external design documents.
- Developed Active Server Page demonstrations utilizing the components mentioned above for execution in Microsoft IIS.
