The system included complete gamut of functionality possible in general insurance from customer/quote/policy management to premium accounting and billing system along with 18 integrating applications. The developed system is now effectively one of the most advanced systems with 1.2 million lines of java code.

Application for a insurance broker to insure various products like pubs, shops, restaurants, residential properties etc. Basically a portal application designed for 5 products using Java Server Faces, which takes all the information from the insurer and saves it in XML. The reading and writing of data in xml is performed by EZBean component provided by client. It does both the jsf based validation and other custom validation for each data entry page. Finally the data entered is sent to DP Dynamic processing system , which calculates the various figures in policy and gives the terms and conditions. User can amend his changes or view the data entered by him/her. Finally there is a facility to purchase the insurance policy online. User may give details of his bank account and connect to his/her bank for debiting the money. E-Broking application is made browser compatible recently for which I alone was involved in R D. Also single sign-on using web seal is implemented for the portlet applications.

Quote Store developed for handling the Quotations from e-broking the system allows the quote creation of for products: like pubs, shops, restaurants, residential properties. Quote store interact with Message Broker, adapter frame work and GEMINI. In the application we have two type of services one is internal services and External services. External services are those available to external clients. The quote store component exposes the following external services: 1 Retrieve Quote: Retrieves complete quote details for a single quote, keyed on reference number and optionally dateTime stamp. 2 Search: Returns summary quote details for quotes matching specified search criteria. 3 Store Quote: Stores quote details for a single quote. Details may be complete or partial. Can also be used for quote amendment. 4 NewBusiness Stores new business acceptance data at the point of quote take up. Also updates related quotes with a onCover field accordingly. Intenal Services: Following are the part of internal service: Daily data Feed to external systems such as a Commercial MI data warehouse: Regular data extraction service: The quote store will run a service every night to extract all rows from the quotation and new business tables. Archiving and Data Deletion: The time stamping of records also allows the quote store assess the age of a quote and if the quote is over thirty days old deal with this accordingly. Quote Expiry: The current CV business requirements state that when the timestamp associated with a quote is 30 days old it should have its status field automatically updated to a status of expired. Quote Archiving: Either as part of the above service or as a separate similar timed daily service quote store must archive off all quotes with a status of expired and which have had no activity on them after a further 60 days. Quote Deletion: A service should then run daily over the archive file to check for quotes a year old and not taken up as new business or as in line .
