The EODS consolidates all of the transactions from the key systems within the AXIS value chain and acts as the hub for data integration, data quality, and metadata management. The new EDW is fed from the EODS and is based on IBM's Insurance Information Warehouse IIW industry model which offers the flexibility to model any type of Insurance or Reinsurance business. These new data stores have become the foundation for data integration, reporting, KPIs, and forecasting across all of AXIS' business segments.
• Consolidated AXIS' multiple Electronic Document Management solutions into one Microsoft SharePoint web application for document storage and retrieval. Utilizing out of the box Microsoft MOSS document libraries reduced development time and allowed Policy and Claims systems to integrate directly with the system via web services. Additionally, a custom .NET web application was built to allow offshore operational teams to index and catalog documents for retrieval without interfering with the underwriting or claims processes. This solution allowed AXIS to move to electronic documents and shift the sorting and indexing of these documents to cheaper offshore resources.
