  • The iLúm analytical and reporting portal provides deep data and insight for the Antimicrobial Stewardship team. The AMS leaders are given a spectrum of reporting and analytical tools, integrated with a real time Antibiogram. This allows the healthcare providers to evaluate the real world implications of their antibiotic decisions at the point of care.
  • The advisory rule sets can be fine tuned to improve performance based on the findings of the AMS managers.
  • I have been the lead Technologist and Architect for a real time, rule based point-of-care physician advisory system and analytics portal for the point of care team. The product, iLúm, is a collaborative effort run by Confidential (Merck) and several partner companies in medicine, healthcare and aerospace.
  • My responsibilities include designing the overall solution and supporting the partner selection with technical evaluations, and HIPPA and SDLC readiness audits. I continue to guide the development partners throughout the development and integration processes to assure compliance to the architectural specification.   • The first release of iLúm is a sepsis-focused rule set that considers the Confidential t medical history, real time EMR interactions by the point of care team, and protocols established for Confidential t care in providing guidance to the team. The expert system provides real time safety and bundle protocol alerts to the medical team as they work with the Confidential t. The advisory alerts appear in real time as dialogs within the EMR display and all dialog responses are recorded.

  • QEP is an Appian workflow overseeing the of data accuracy in three separate CTMS systems prior to regulatory reporting. The CTMS data is extracted via ETL to a data warehouse where it is conformed to a centralized data model. The application is provided a data mart refreshed by the warehouse several times each day.
  • Informatica reads the study data from the data mart and executes a series of data quality rules. The results of the analysis are recorded for later consumption, in the QEP application database.
  • Appian shares the data mart and monitors the error tables for business rule failures identified by Informatica. The failures signify a data issue that must be corrected in the source CTMS. Appian bundles the failures into tasks and intelligently assigns them to groups of data stewards who oversee the correction process. Workflow steps monitor the correction process and progress reports are delivered through Appian dashboards. Reports that reflect business data are delivered through integration with Business Objects. This is a validated application.

Risk Based Monitoring - Solution Architect
