Confidential

Senior Software Engineer/Senior Java Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Designed and implemented a ‘proof-of-concept’ web analytics tool to track complete user activity on all Confidential sites
  • Phase 1 of the tool is in Production and presents a dashboard to the users in each Confidential business unit, presenting various metrics of user activity via customizable widgets inside a web-based portal
  • Developed the tool using a host of technologies - the open-source Piwik framework, PHP, Javascript, Apache, HTTP, SOAP, Web Services, Java, MySQL (Schema Design, Queries, and Stored Procedure development) - that integrated with Confidential ’s proprietary Rover (user tracking) and Sojourner (user activity logging) frameworks to unlock valuable latent business intelligence from very high volumes of continually generated data
  • The first trial phase of the tool has rolled out and is tracking all user activity on Confidential via the iPhone Confidential app
  • Product Development - Selling Tools, Confidential Marketplaces ( Confidential Division):
  • Implemented portions of a major upgrade to the Confidential Seller Tools site (heavily used by its large reseller customers) architecture, upgrading the site from the older V3 to the newer V4 architecture (proprietary to Confidential )
  • Developed a phase of the integration of the recently acquired Half.com site architecture with the Confidential framework
  • The development on the Confidential framework required extensive work with: Java (Core + Advanced features), Javascript, XML processing, and Ajax

Confidential

Senior Software Developer

Responsibilities:

  • Designed and implemented the system that integrated both custom and vendor applications (such as automated form processing tool Teleform and CMS OpenText Livelink) into one larger system that now processes and routes nearly 600,000 documents yearly (each ~2MB large on average), nation-wide and soon internationally
  • Development included custom Java-based solutions that interfaced with various API’s (such as exposed by CMS Livelink), Perl scripting, UNIX shell scripting for administrative tasks, Javascript/XHTML, VB, and proprietary COS programming
  • This paper-to-digital initiative immediately slashed $6 million from existing costs
  • The design was so well-received that other departments within RHI requested an analogous application, and its growing use now saves RHI the marginal cost of $120K+ as a result of extending the existing functionality to each new department
  • The usage of template-based design and libraries made the adoption of the original implementation to other similar purposes very easy, and its existing functionality has fostered the demand for even more enhancements
  • Developed, tested, and evaluated the ease of integration of various custom J2EE components using the JBoss Server into the Livecycle 7 environment, in the process revealing many existing flaws and suggesting potential improvements to the platform
  • Developed forms/workflows that presently greatly aid daily collaboration throughout Adobe Systems
  • Managed the re-design and development of an entire Enterprise Intranet Portal using the BEA WebLogic Portal Platform for Confidential & Confidential Corporation, greatly improving its flexibility, robustness, and scalability - from a user and developer perspective
  • Costs were slashed considerably: a layer of existing workforce was made unnecessary
  • Performance increased nearly 10x in many use cases
  • The effort streamlined future development efforts by 400%
  • Development centered around the BEA Weblogic Portal platform and involved extensive Java/J2EE/HTML/DHTML/CSS/Javascript development and was guided by a custom architecture making shrewd usage of design patterns
  • Senior Application Developer for startup client, Workday, developing Web Services Integration solutions for this firm’s Software-As-A-Service product.
  • Integrations involved SOAP, REST, and custom integration tool Cape Clear.
