Rollins Inc. has implemented Amdocs Customer Relations Management software to support the sales staff for managing pest control sales. It also maintains the FOCUS application to be the back end and scheduling software.
Currently, there is no flow of information between sales application implemented using Amdocs CRM and FOCUS application. All the opportunities are created in Amdocs. When an opportunity is won in Amdocs, the details of the sale are manually fed into FOCUS and a contract is created in FOCUS. Also, when the contract is created and service is scheduled in FOCUS, no information is passed back to Amdocs. Due to this, the sales person has no information on the status of the sale/contract.
The purpose of this project is to integrate Amdocs CRM with FOCUS. The flow of information would be bi-directional. When an opportunity is won in Amdocs, the details of the sale are passed to FOCUS automatically. When a sale is accepted/rejected in FOCUS, appropriate status of the sale is passed back to Amdocs. And when a contract is created/cancelled in FOCUS or Service is scheduled/rescheduled or any of the contract details are changed, appropriate contract information is passed back to Amdocs. This includes any changes to the validation, any new tables required, and any process changes.
All of the bi-directional messaging and interaction between Amdocs and FOCUS is implemented using SOA and web services.
Role:

  • Provided the architecture design using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Designed use-case diagrams, Activity diagrams, class diagrams and sequence diagrams using UML 1.1 and IBM Rational Software Architect 7.0.
  • Created the \'External Design Specification\' and \'Internal Design Specification\' documents for the sales integration.
  • Created SOA and web services standards.
  • Used agile methodologies such as Scrum, Iterative model, test-driven development for the execution of the project.
  • Configured and integrated web services using IBM Websphere ESB for message routing and message transformation between Amdocs CRM Sales and FOCUS applications.
  • Designed and developed the service classes, DOA and domain classes using Spring Framework 2.5, JPA, Hibernate and annotations for the sale quotes module.
  • Designed and developed REST based Web Services and WSDL Interfaces.
  • Designed and Developed grid components for ‘Sales Quotes’ and ‘Sale Orders’ module using AJAX toolkit DHTMLX.
  • Coded Portlets to build portal pages for application using JSR 286 & JSR 168 API/IBM Portal API for the ‘Sales Quote’ module.
  • Designed and developed the Load Beans, XBeans, EJB\'s, Core Business Objects and utility classes for the Amdocs to FOCUS integration module.
  • Created and configured clustered server environment and deployed the CRM sales application in WebSphere Application Server 6.1
  • Used source control management tool ‘Subversion’ for code version control.
  • Developed code and tested using Apache\'s Junit testing framework.

Environment: Java SE 5.0, Java EE 5.0, SOA, Rational Software Architect 7.0, Spring Framework 2.5, Hibernate 3.1, JAX-RPC, Web Services, REST, WSDL, EJB 3.0, JPA, JPQL, AJAX, DHTMLX, SOAP 1.1, SubVersion, UML, JAXB, JNLP, Java Web Start, XML, XSD, XQuery, Eclipse Ganymede, IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1, IBM WebSphere Portal Server, IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus 6,1, SOAP UI 2.0, Junit 4.5, JMock, Oracle 10g, SQL, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Windows XP Professional, IBM AIX

D2C multi-channel services enable the customers to check the validate tender type, balances online, order status, Item eligibility, Get Startup Settings for kiosks and Esend registers, and check In-store availability for merchandise sold on-line and in-store. The In-store eligibility and availability will allow macys.com to display in-store availability to the customer as they are browsing the site. This will allow Macy’s customers to research merchandise on-line but touch feel and buy at a nearby Macy’s location. Drive in store traffic through Macy’s.com.

The Electronic gift card service enables the customer to check the balance online through Macys.com and the order status allows the customer to track the status of the order online. The main business objectives of the Item eligibility and In-Store availability services is to display stock status for closest stores based on zip code provided by the customer. Validate Tender Type Service is used to determine what type of tender was swiped or scanned at a device. Currently used by the selling kiosks for identifying credit cards or Electronic Gift Cards (EGC) used at the card readers. The Get Startup Setting Services is used to retrieve selected information from the back end mainframe systems for the selling kiosks and Esend registers.

The Order Management (OM) system is a central component of the overall FairPoint solution that supports orders throughout their lifecycle from preorder through to activation and billing. After an order is captured and sent to Order Management, the OM system primarily acts as an orchestration engine that coordinates the activities of multiple systems to fulfill the order. If an error should occur that results in fallout from the Order Management processes, the OM system also provides the capabilities to manage the fallout.
The core Order Management solution is implemented using the SOA Architecture & MetaSolv M6.0.13 platform with configuration and customizations is used filling the gap between the core product functionality and the requirements for FairPoint
