  • Supported the installation and ongoing client use of Infogix applications installed on IBM’s WebSphere application servers
  • Contingent Staff member for the Performance Engineering team tasked with testing the BCBSA Blue Exchange application which includes WebSphere MQ 7, Vitria 4.5 and LDAP.
  • Testing Blue Exchange is accomplished with a custom test harness injecting EDI 5010 transactions as message payloads.

Responsibilities:

  • A member of Confidential, which was and is an IBM Preferred Business Partner servicing the WebSphere complete stack globally.
  • My early assignments as developer writing java application portlets on WebSphere Portal for Sprint PCS, Sheetz, and Allstate and others.
  • Later sharing tasks of both developing and administering IBM WebSphere product line plus other IBM groups such as Tivoli.
  • This mainly consisted of standing up WebSphere Portal on which ever OS the client chose (AIX, Windows, Solaris, and Linux).

Responsibilities:

  • I worked exclusively with WebSphere Application servers and messaging.
  • There were few tools that placed load on message queues, we had to build our own. With a database, WebSphere Application server and MDB’s to place messages on and remove messages from queues we harnessed the internal workings of the application.
  • This tool aided in the sizing of the WebSphere Instances and the Oracle RAC needed to deliver the daily load of insurance transactions processed daily.
  • Most assignments in the final 2 years working at Confidential involved performance and/or monitoring (Tivoli, Wily, xmon).
