Applications Manager/Systems Analyst/Programmer
Recruitment, supervision and development of the IT applications staff, technical feedback and design reviews, systems and database architecture, programming, development and delivery of technical and end user training, capital and operating budgeting, operational and strategic planning.
- Program Manager, systems/database architect and project manager for the development and deployment of an automated operator-less scale house receiving system using RFID and GPS technology. Researched, designed and documented the hardware and software specifications for the RFID readers, GPS readers and active tags. Contracted with a vendor for the development of the RFID, and GPS hardware and software. This system autonomously collected grower contract information, harvest field coordinates, ambient air temperature, pile storage location, and yield for each truck load of sugar beets delivered. The receiving station software was developed in-house with .NET and Access. The receiving data was transferred to an IBM iSeries data queue every 15 minutes where a COBOL program processed the data. PDF files were created and posted to the member's only internet site for private access by the growers.
- Program Manager, systems/database architect, and project manager for the development of an automated time and attendance system using biometric time clocks. This system eliminated all punch time cards in 6 factories with over 3,500 employees and provided real time attendance data to the payroll clerks and factory supervisors. The user interface was developed using the JD Edwards Enterprise One online development tools. The time stamp data was collected from the biometric time clocks by a .NET polling program to an SQL Server file and then to an IBM iSeries data queue where a COBOL program processed the data and posted it to an Enterprise One grid.
- SAP Executive Information Systems Analyst and Developer. Assisted as a member of the SAP implementation team. Successfully developed and deployed an Executive Information System using the SAP EIS/BW systems and database aspect architecture tool set for the sugar industry.
- Program Manager, systems/database architect and project manager for the development of a Grower Contracting system. The system was developed in .NET and Access for offline use by the agriculturists to contract sugar beet acres with the growers. Business Objects was integrated with this system for crop analysis and printing the grower contract. The agriculturists would synchronize their individual systems by uploading to and downloading to the core agriculture systems developed on an IBM iSeries using CA2E at the corporate office.
- Program Manager, systems/database architect, and project manager for the development of a corn procurement company. The systems were developed in-house on an IBM iSeries with CA2E and COBOL with a realtime receiving interface that invoked an ftp .bat process from a remote Foxpro developed grain receiving system. This Grower Management System consisted of Shareholder Accounting, Futures, Hedging and Cash Contracting. Scheduling, Receiving, A/R, A/P, Settlement and an Inventory interface with SAP.
- Project Manager for the development of an Ag/Operations system. The system was successfully developed in .NET and SQL Server and maintained the sugar beet inventory from storage to factory operations.
- Program Manager, systems/database architect and programmer using IDMS, ADSO and COBOL to convert the Agriculture and Shareholder Accounting systems from a Burroughs Mainframe to an IBM Mainframe. 10 years later we redeveloped this system on an IBM iSeries using CA2E and COBOL.
- Y2K Project Manager. Worked with functional managers in all areas of the organization, helping each create a business impact analysis, disaster recovery plan, and corrective action plans for any potential Y2K issues. All plans were in place and all corrective actions were completed on time. No problems were encountered over the turn of the century.
