• Implemented an integrated virtual solution based on VMware vSphere technology (currently vSphere 5.0U1, & View 5.0 on deduplicated NetApp FAS 2020 Filers) for servers and workstations (mix of PCoIP Samsung & Wyse WNOS thin clients running mostly VmWare Thinapp-ed applications). Data is replicated over NetApp Snap Mirror to a remote location via an in-house deployed site to site VPN with no failure since it was deployed in 2008.
• Deployed the current network structure by replacing the previous outdated Novell one with a Windows based one and growing it through all the stages from a Windows NT4 domain to a Windows 2008R2 Active directory structure. Currently the network is featuring Exchange 2007 for e-mail services (with ActiveSync communicating with Apple iPhones for staff) and upgraded voice communications to IP telephony & unified voicemail (Mitel sx200 ICP). The infrastructure features inter-vlan routing and is built on a mix of CISCO, 3COM, HP and no-name switches. Unix/Linux machines are used for the internet DNS (BIND 9.x) and emergency PPTP VPN access (administered for simplicity via WebMin).
• Developed the Cosmos Club website on an ASPX 2.0 – C# - JavaScript platform and wrote many ASCX user controls to add functionality (PDF forms management solution with database data retention, dining room reservations featuring special menus, file repositories for collaborative work, etc). Developed various categories of software using C#, from Windows Shell replacements, configured from a central location, for public workstations, to remote hosts services and processes control, to parking planning software.
