  • Monitored day-to-day operations & performance of the Focal Network which had Juniper M20 routers and Foundry Gig Ethernet network devices and a new to market Unisphere layer 2/3 device.
  • We were building a new network connecting the FOCAL CLEAC’s together and provide the customer with a 100% up time guarantee. We used BGP to peer with 3 separate ISPs in each city. From the M20 we used VLAN switching for each customer who connected directly to the Foundry GIG Ethernet switch and OSPF to announce customer routes into our BGP sessions.
  • BGP peering to customers with their own AS number and IBGP between each city to allow faster routing for customer routes.
  • Built our own management tool to allow customers to look at their own usage stats and our equipment availability and per port throughput.
  • Managed 3 engineers directly and 28 field techs in 28 different sites.
  • Introduced standards and exacting documentation for engineering. Each city’s network was exactly the same as any other city. To include the racks, equipment type and layout, cable length, cable labeling and standard configurations for each device.
