WORK EXPERIENCE
Expert Lotus Notes Architect (Contractor for American Express)
- Confidential, Phoenix, Arizona (March 1998 to June 2004)
- Confidential, Kingwood, Texas (July 2004 to May 2007)
- Confidential, Norwood, Mass. (June 2007 to present)
- Originally contracted to the Y2K office of Confidential. I became responsible for a suite of 5 Lotus Notes databases which managed their progress toward achieving Y2K compliance across the globe.
- Designed and implemented a tool to report availability of Confidential. By January 1999, this tool was rolled out to all Notes servers at Confidential.
- Created a complicated failover system of databases for monitoring the Year 2000 transition to enable each functional area (in both Business and Technologies) to report issues/events in real-time and senior management to monitor/respond.
- Transformed the Web Hosting team's projects database from a simple document repository to a robust application which supported detailed project tracking, automated financial capture, issues tracking, online checklists with electronic signoffs, executive summary profiling and HTML-based reporting. Converted the DRR - a massive document in 8 sections completed by the development team and signed off by various departments within Operations - from a Word document to an automated online process.
- Created a projects database for the Global Reengineering department of American Express Technologies. It includes online CBAs, which roll into projects, to track progress toward the reengineering goals of all the Technologies groups. It is user-friendly and tightlly secured (since data reported from here appears on the company's SEC documents).
- Built dozens of databases for the AET Governance team, ranging from document repositories to workflow systems and issues tracking. The most recent effort involved mapping the 3,000 IBM contract resources to AXP Leaders and synchronizing with the HR system (PeopleSoft).
- Took over development of the MYCA WMS (Workflow Management System) db which was seriously failing user acceptance testing for initial rollout. I was able to turn the project around within 3 weeks.
- Currently support 13 different departments, comprising 43 databases.
