  • Configured and Maintained Solaris Sun OS 4.x-Sparc Servers, Linux Servers, Windows
  • NT-9.x servers and HP series servers. The project consisted of testing their Gauntlet firewall product using Socks 5 standards. This included constant review of CPU utilization, load averages, unsuccessful log attempts, compromise and consistent thorough put against their firewall Gauntlet on Sun Solaris and HP 9000 servers .
  • Worked with configuring DNS servers for proper resolution with their firewall products and configured Transcenders 3com suite . Responsible for a suite of servers that included an array of software from QuickTime, Real-Player, VDO-Player, UDP loader, FTP products, NetMeeting, Aventail, Netscape 3.x-4.x, Mozilla 1, IE 4.x-5.x, NEC Socks5 client, and an array of other products for testing purposes. Added users for testing purposes to Sun and HP boxes for other suites on different networks to test connectivity and all of the services offered by their firewall product Socks 4-TCP and Socks 5-TCP and UDP . Used snoop, protocol, and tail -f /var/log/messages in Sun, tcpdump in Linux, and top and Glance to review packets and network error messages regarding Gauntlet and error messages. Worked with developers to review error messages and to make corrections.

Wan Manager/Network Engineer Contractor

  • Managed and maintained Compaq Proliant 6500, Solaris 2.x and Dell 2500 servers.
  • Reviewed metrics from Compaq Insight Manager and HP Openview. Resolved problems regarding NT 4.0, Digital Unix, and Novell 4.0 servers.

  • Identified threats and vulnerabilities using an assortment of tools for trend and network analysis. Wrote scripts to identify and eradicate threats before they were able to execute arbitrary malicious code. Resolved Y2K issues with various servers using LANDesk and other tool to help with the software pushes to the desktops. Used Microsoft Project to keep track of various project needs and deadlines. Moreover, worked with upper-management and consulting staff to identify areas of concern and improvement when it pertained to network and internal security.
