Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Understanding how the data is managed by the PI system from the source to the PI Archive and then to the front - end applications. Understanding Client PI Server setup and data Flow for a Multinational Client. Analysis of the PI Data flow from the SCADA source to the PI Collectives (Interfaces, Failover Architecture)
- PI Tags are used to store data from the real time data sources into the PI Archive. Creating tags from PI SMT and Bulk Tag creation from Excel Plugin. In depth understanding of the attributes used in creation of PI Tags including the Instrument tag ID, Interface ID, Scan Class, and other attributes to filter the incoming data.
- Understanding the functionality of PI Interface. Hands on experience in creating PI to PI interfaces using PI ICU. Theoretical understanding of the OPC interfaces.
- PI Archives are used to store the data in the PI points permanently which can be accessed by the frontend applications for their use. Understanding the different types of the archives (Dynamic and Manual) their Advantages and disadvantages. Exploring the data storage in PI Archives to improve the storage usage and provide fast retrieval of data.
- PI Asset Framework is used to create Hierarchy for the tags and thus mimic the actual process on the field. Creating asset Hierarchy to give meaning to the PI points available in the PI DB. Creating Templates using generic tag names to connect to the PI DB automatically and also create new tags from the AF if required.
- Standardised Shift Reporting, Handovers and Safety Override Logging to reduce operating risk.
- This provides automated Availability and Reliability KPI’s for critical asset equipment which is key factor to reducing production losses and to obtain derived economic information for equipment
- This provides integrity performance assurance for ESD safety valves and early warning of performance degradation to reduce operating risk.
- Provides an asset and equipment level details on of current and historical metal loss from corrosion and erosion probes within a system to allow an assessment of current in-situ corrosion rate and wall thickness.
- Flare Monitoring
- Material Degradation Models (Corrosion Erosion Models )
- Lab Data Monitoring
- Water Flood Monitoring
- Automated Trends Plotting Tool enables the user to generate Trends by providing real-time data. The trends can be easily read and provides the user with a much easier access to information related to Production. This module interfaces with other applications like Chemical Management Suite to provide detailed and historical data in a graphical format.
- Continues Threat Assessment Module (CTAM) provides an overview of threats to integrity on a plant in real-time, monitoring for conditions such as high corrosion and erosion rates or excursions from integrity operating windows.
