Systems Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • I was in the collaborative process of writing software requirements, and a statement of work for a operation system installer. The intent was to have this installer set the drive partitioning, install prerequisites, and configure the operating system with minimal user interaction.
  • Wrote documentation for a manual system installation and configuration.
  • Maintained Windows Server Development environments
  • Wrote software requirements for a generic application installation package, and the tool used for creating the resulting installation package (e.g. install shield).
  • Designed application installation packages using ASTRUM install wizard, and Install shield, for experimentation and for an official application installer.
  • Designed and implemented a down buffering multithreaded addition to a C# .Net Web Service running on dual Quad - Core Intel Microprocessors (parallel computing). The functionality is used for when the SQL Server Database goes offline, messages or packets get stored to an MSMQ buffer. This then triggers another thread to leave its semaphore and poll for when the database is back up. The queue is flushed and packets are written to the database as soon as the software determines an active database.
