- I managed 6 authoritative DNS servers and 12 caching servers in 3 data centers across the country that accounts for 80K domains. Administrate a staging server that logs the zone changes from users and does sanity checks before they get deployed to the authoritative servers. 8 of the 12 caching servers I have configured in a load balanced situation that can handle a large spike of the DNS traffic.
- Written many scripts to automate by tasks, one being able to re-write rDNS records from XO when we purchased the Irvine data center from them, this allowed us to assume ownership from ARIN, also any RFC2317 configurations for classless delegation to clients name servers.
- Was transferred to Irvine, CA to make the transaction of the purchase of the data center from XO smooth. During the process I implemented our companies procedures that I helped developed.
- Deployed over 100 ESX servers that include HA and VMotion utilizing kickstart.
- Built a complete Linux kickstart system that utilizes a web interface to create a custom ks configuration depending on the order, that is completely secured and configured in a 20 minute install time that is consistent; this would usually take 4 hours to complete manually.
- Moved 300+ servers from The Boston Data Center to VeriCenter over a 3 day period in Boston, MA.
- After Solaris migration to Louisville, I fine-tuned and improved the performance of each server, added virus & spam protection for incoming mail on all servers.
- Configured an 8 server load balanced smart host setup to relay mail for the Solaris server for outgoing mail; this helped the servers from getting black listed.
- Responsible for Tier 3 support; last resort to our clients.
- Managed and built with a team a new shared product line for our shared hosting department HalfPriceHosting.com that at the time generated $117k over a 1 ½ year period utilizing 2 servers.
