Service Fund is Humana's automated system for reimbursing contracted physicians. It provides payment and accounting services for thousands of network physicians nationwide. Service Fund plays a major role in a number of physician payment and accounting processes, including capitation calculation, capitation payment, claim payment, claims expensing and reconciliation. It also helps determine reimbursement for ancillary providers such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies. The heart of the system is to make timely and accurate payments to physicians' nation wide. A variety of reports is sent to physicians on a monthly basis. These reports are available in paper, diskette and CD-ROM versions that contain member and financial data. Service Fund system has approximately 2020 jobs that ensure its proper functioning. These jobs execute approximately 1035 programs.
