COMPUTER SKILLS Hardware:

  • Duties include: Monitored 12 accounts. This action included reporting backup failures, with the use of the Remedy ticketing system to generate failure tickets.
  • Duties also includes the use of Remedy ticketing system to fill restore request. This consisted of restoring information accidentally deleted by the client. The restores are performed on netbackup and avamar systems. Some netbackups use a tape library and some don't use a tape library.
  • A huge amount of data is store on a Nas.

  • Duties also include the use of the SMARTS alert system. This system the official tool use to indicate a backup failure or multiple failures. It also lets us know if drive are down.
  • Duties also include assisting with global accounts. For example, these often need our assistance in contacting IBM to fix a down drive. The Remedy system is used here too.
  • Duties include writing procedures for our accounts. For example if an account want us to now restore data, then a documentation has to be produced for the team on how to restore on this account.
