Configuration Change Manager responsible for analyzing, scheduling and processing of all coordinated changes to the network infrastructure environment. Analyzes projected network changes to locate and resolve potential change collisions to reduce downtime and project costs. Work closely with each technical group to ensure timely and effective implementation of that groups infrastructure changes. Coordinates and moderates weekly review of all scheduled changes with senior level engineers, managers, and directors. Analyzes and reviews current processes and procedures to ensure they are compliant with current industry standards and compliant with a variety of auditable regulations. Directly responsible for the daily processing, and secure housing of critical project documentation and software code. Assist and instruct customer in identifying network faults effecting Confidential product performance on Hybrid Fiber Coaxial cable network plant (CATV), Local Area Networks (LAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN). Assisted customer in troubleshooting LAN/WAN network issues on equipment such as Cisco routers/switches, Firewalls, Microsoft OS platforms (98/2k/NT/Me/2k/XP-NT Server), basic Unix and Oracle troubleshooting, plus many others.

The mobile networks consisted of Cisco proprietary routers for network traffic routing. Pairgain T1 modems for long haul connections, and standard hubs for facility connectivity.

As Ancillary Training Manager it was my responsibility to re-design and re-create procedures for tracking all required training for an entire Squadron consisting of over 300 personnel. This included the creation of an MS Access database used to track training progress, as well as generate reports, graphs, and statistics.

1997 to 2000 – Network Systems Engineer, Confidential, Guam

Responsible for design and implementation of network projects and installation for the 3,000 node Andersen Air Force Base Metropolitan Area Network. Reviewed project design documents for technical validity and proper integration to existing network technology.

Coordinated, and assisted in acceptance testing, QA, faulting isolation, and restoration of the Cisco 7500 series FDDI backbone. Integrating, configured, tested, monitored, analyzed, controlled, and restored systems to maintain top performance of the base infrastructure.

Facilitated the installation of the first ATM backbone on the base by installing three Cisco Catalyst 5500s, and two Cisco Catalyst 8500 switches. Effectively planned, and implemented a strategy to cut over existing FDDI Ring to the ATM backbone without loss of service to end users.

Project leader responsible for installed, configured, tested, and monitored all equipment necessary to bring the first ever xDSL technology to Andersen Air Force Base. Coordinated the installation of the equipment racks, as well as the installation of the DC power required by the equipment. Researched and developed a configuration plan for the various equipment, and IOSs involved in the installation. As well as user based instructions for Cisco’s View Runner Software.

Team lead for Cisco 2511 Access server upgrade. Provided Technical Solution to give 56K access to remote users off base. Coordinated the upgrade of the existing service from 33.6K to 56K without downtime to users.

Effectively isolated multiple transmission media outages. Pinpointing fiber optic and twisted pair cable beaks with the use of optical testing equipment. Isolated physical layer problems quickly and returned service to the customer with minimal downtime. Remotely tested subscriber equipment, end-to-end circuits, systems, and networks to verify the services provided and input/output signals met standard.

Designed the infrastructures architecture for secure/classified Local Area Networks. Involving connecting, configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring equipment such as fiber optic modems, routers, CSU/DSUs, and encryption devices.

Transcribed technical documentation / instructions which led non-computer professionals through the restoration of configuration in the event a technician was unavailable. This ensured minimal downtime for users in the event of an equipment malfunction.
