Responsible for all IT infrastructure and Data Center operations, consisting of 120 windows servers, 10 SOLARIS servers, Oracle and SQL database clusters, desktops and Citrix XenApp thin clients, SAN Storage, Applications customizations and supporting about 1200 users in a 24 7 manufacturing environment.
I am currently leading the Storage and Backup team for Baxter Manufacturing facilities across facilities.
VMWARE:
Implemented VMWare ESX 5.5 using Hitachi HUS 150 for storage and used VEEAM 7.0 for backup. We are currently migrating physical machines to virtual. Designed and configured storage for other facilities within Baxter Irvine CA, Cartago Costa Rica , Tampa FL and Mexico. These other locations are using Hitachi HUS 110 for their storage.
Helpdesk Improvements:
Within six months of managing the help desk team, achieved SLA goals for all help desk tickets. The goal was achieved by conducting daily stand up meetings, monitoring help desk trends, heavy following up with technicians, distribution of work load and motivating technicians to learn newer technologies.
Compliance:
SOX policies were implemented and maintained for ERP application, Operating systems and for databases. SOX audits were completed without any major findings. CFR Part 11 compliance was also maintained for all the systems that were installed and maintained.
Change Control:
Established change control policies and procedures. Coordinated change control meetings, to ensure that best practices are being followed.
On-Call Management:
Established procedures and escalation guidelines for on-call responsibilities, Manage on-call rotation and act as tier 2 3 escalation support.

Sr. DBA and Systems Administrator
- As a Senior DBA in Providian Financial I supported the databases in Oracle for Under Writing, Sales Balance Transfers, New Credit Cards, and Credit Card Products , Customer Risk Management and Collections applications, which had up to 4000 user connections and databases ranging from a few MB up to 500GB. Supported Data marts in Oracle 9i. The data marts are from 300 GB to 1.2 TB in size. These were vital databases that supported the organization. The databases in Sybase were either converted to Oracle or redesigned.
- Accomplished increased throughput and reduced backup time window by additions to the tape libraries and adjusting the backup schedule. Created check lists to make sure all the systems are being backed up. New procedures were created for testing backup and restore.
- LIMS system was implemented using Veritas Cluster Server for oracle on Solaris. Oracle database, Veritas Cluster and Solaris Servers were installed and configured for SQL LIMS application.

An OpenServer application was developed to communicate with IBM3270 terminal for a client. OpenServer was used to transfer data from Sybase database to 3270 terminal and emulate the functions performed on the 3270 terminal using SUN Link 3270 HLI application programming interface.
