Background Summary

• Managing a team of tw Senior Systems/Storage Administrators responsible for all issues related t the backend UNIX, Storage and Internet infrastructure.
• Guarantee adequate service level response for all open issues by conducting real time monitoring. Develop and analyze highly complex system metric standards, thresholds, and make recommendations t maximize system performance. Coordinate with management t formulate complex technical solutions. Work closely with the business development personnel on proposals and work estimates involving highly complex system administration projects and solutions.
• Research and study current systems technology and serve as subject matter expert on complex system processes and procedures. Supervise the technical team in the selection of new technical products and support. Provide guidance in the planning, provisioning and support of our mission critical HP-UX/Linux system environment and tier1 EMC SAN storage.
• Conduct capacity planning reviews with management and oversee capacity plans formulated by less experienced personnel. Oversee and implement system upgrade strategies. Decrease down time through operational improvements tools and processes . Continuously involved in developing different system administrative tools using Shell, Perl or C. Working closely with my staff members in transferring this knowledge.
• Develop an employee growth plan for each team member. Maintain weekly staff meetings for project review, bi-weekly one-on-one meetings, quarterly review updates and yearly performance reviews.

• Purchase of new SSL certificate
• DNS change requirements/implementation

• Retail POS migration from NetApp FAS 3240 t EMC VNX7500. Project requirement consisted of the following:

• Listed below are some accomplishment examples in leading various projects and team members as well as technically contributing t the day t day aspect of our infrastructure environment.
• Engineered a set of tool scripts t automate remote snapshot LUN backups through EMC Networker's savepnpc pre and post-processing commands. Leveraged RecoverPoint Image Access, SnapView snapshots and Oracle Hot backup mode t create consistency on all Oracle instance backups.
• Developed a migration plan of all development and production mission-critical applications from a PA-RISC platform Superdome, rp8420s and rp74xx servers t new Itanium servers consisting of various BL860/70s, rx7460s and rx8640s. Worked closely with our Oracle DBAs and development teams in properly executing the migration plan. Coordinated the migration of the OV Management server from an old PA-RISC server t a new Integrity Blade server. The project was completed within the 6 month timeline.
• Upgraded multiple ServiceGuard clusters t version 11.19 t reduce cluster package downtime. The project required t test/verify new version functionality, failover package script upgrades and business downtime schedules for all production server upgrades.
• Engineered and developed a suite of shell scripts that automated the Networker Legat backups utilizing our Business Continuity Volumes BCVs and a disaster recovery solution utilizing EMC's SRDF between our local and remote Symmetrix DMX frames.
• Focal point contact t support the Full Circle ERP application running on Linux RHEL 5. Coordinated the RHEL 5 t 6 upgrade plan. Developed various OV Openview templates and monitors scripts t manage the various Linux clients. Configured multiple OV Openview nodes across our DMZ zone.
• Configured and installed a new customer service solution that required multiple HP VM guests running 11.31 on various RX6600 Integrity Servers.
• Configured, installed and tested a new warehouse solution that required multiple HP Integrity blades BL870c and BL860c running 11.23. The backend storage is housed on an HP EVA4400.

Tool and utility development:

• Shell script utility t create a vg00 copy on another volume group t support system recovery. Shell script file transfer utility between New York City and the Honk Kong sales office. Developed various administrative system shell scripts t automate cleanup, monitor and backup procedures. Implemented make recovery procedures for all HP-UX systems.
• Investigated and discovered a major I/ bottleneck on Liz's core business application. Recommended and implemented the offloading of all the Oracle hot tables across various stripped volumes. Eventually installed EMC PowerPath t load balance across multiple HBAs.
• Developed various courses in C programming and Shell programming for my staff personnel.
• Managed the installation of our remote distribution centers consisting of 4 2 node MC ServiceGuard clusters.
• Supporting a global environment composed of Oracle DBAs, local/remote developers and application-end users. Each development team varies on size by application approximately we are speaking of about 200 people that develop/maintain all of our applications and the approximately about 2000 application-end users
