Maintenance Mechanic
This was a precious metal refinery; I was hired to perform all preventative maintenance on the entire plant’s operating equipment. This included product blenders, centrifuges, rolling mills, annealing ovens, reactors, agitators, scrubbers, exhaust equipment. Lubrication and belt/chain maintenance was the bulk of the work. Oil changes to gear drives as well as all safety equipment being maintained (fire extinguishers). I was later assigned to service most of the HVAC equipment in the plant, as a supplement to the outside contractor (Unitemp). There was also a 60 ton Dunham-Bush vertical screw compressor chiller for cooling one of the depts. This was a critical piece of equipment, as the division made platinum and palladium products, and down time
