Education and Background

M. Tech Project: Strategies for Quick Response in Supply Chain:
This project was related to studying the issues related to quick response in supply chain. Analyze the performance of the system by taking into account business processes that are normally in use. Study the independent and joint effects of the policies on the performance of the supply chain like; information sharing, quick response through coordination, flexibility of order quantity and lead time reduction. A mixed integer linear programming model was developed for making decision at various levels of supply chain. This model was solved using Lingo. In order to incorporate coordination capabilities, a hierarchical clustering approach was used. Lead time reduction and coordination strategies were used with the help of suitable algorithms. The algorithm calculates the optimal amount of buffer to be kept for minimizing the shortages. A software system was developed using LINGO and Visual Basic in order to make effective use of the model and algorithms developed.

Workshops attanded:

  • Supply chain management
  • Enterprise excellence through six sigma
  • Production management

Seminars Presented:

  • Container optimization algorithms
  • Balanced Scorecard in Enterprise (Dream ERP)
  • Object oriented modeling and decision support for supply chain.
  • Data mining in ERP
  • Loans, ordering and shortage costs in start up industries.
