- Development included extension of standard SAP business object, business transaction event to trigger workflow, custom dialog triggered after document parking which allows selection of “exception” approvers and one time invoice approvers. This workflow can work in 2 modes: normal and urgent. Email remainders are generated from within the flow every 2 days until the invoice is posted.
- Workflow for LIV documents (PO related invoices). Rule resolution sends work items with custom dialog to either buyers or receivers based on PO discrepancy. Custom error statistics were built into this to provide information on type of discrepancies, frequency, reasons etc.
- Material Master Workflow - designed and developed a custom table driven model for this workflow. Because of complexity of material master setup this approach simplified the workflow template. Each step in workflow is defined as an entry in a custom table which defines behavior of each step and its possible future path. This made the design completely generic and gave the flow huge flexibility. Routing paths are designed based on geographical location and approval path code so the process flow is very flexible, allows different business groups to be involved in different business cases.
- Workflow for maintenance and approval of Vendor Master. This included custom business objects, custom transaction where vendor requests are created and transaction variants.
- Workflows for approval of Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Purchasing Contracts.
- Workflow for residual documents in AR. These customer short/overpays are routed to credit dept. or customer service based on reason codes. Custom screen was developed to present these fairly complicated documents to the user in the most understandable way. Attached image of check and remittance is also routed together with the financial document.
- Workflow for Sales Orders on Credit hold. Routing is done to Credit Rep. or Customer service rep based on risk categories and over credit limit situation. This workflow “reroutes” itself based on oldest due date condition - customer service group has a limit of how long they can deal with an order.
