Project History

Collateral Rewrite This project was part of a larger project to move lending software to web technologies. During this project I was an integral part of the development team, utilizing jQuery, Knockout.js, HTML5, CSS3 and C to rewrite portions of the tool. I developed reusable UI components that helped in the process of rapid development of new items, provided insight and support for other components of the software, and helped shape the way in which several of the elements reacted to client input.

T360 T360 is the flagstone product of Tymetrix. The project was to convert old code that was specific to Internet Explorer to an updated package utilizing HTML5, jQuery, Underscore, Require and C to utilize new methodologies to bring the product to current industry standards. The focus was to ensure that the product was able to be used in at least one other browser Chrome and re-skin the client for a much cleaner, streamlined work.

Project History

• Portal Framework 10x Portal is the backbone UI for Travelers. Built in classic ASP, it utilizes VBScript, JavaScript, CSS, and DHTML. My responsibility is to provide troubleshooting and updates to the code and framework in order to handle cross-browser capabilities.
• SourceMerge When I began at Travelers, Portal Framework 10 had many incarnations that were spread across the organization. SourceMerge is an executable program that I created in order to bring all of the versions together, timestamp the versions, and put them all into version control. The program is written in C utilizing the .Net 3.5 framework and uses a SQLite3 temporal database that I designed. When run, the executable gathers all of the files from previous version control repositories, from previously build Nant packages, and from physical locations on a host of servers. Each of these files is analyzed to see if it already exists in the database via the MD5 hash, the modified time stamp, and the file location. If it does not exist, the file is added to the database as BLOB. At the end of the sequence, the different versions are checked into Subversion and a log is written.
• FromOtherConverter This program written in C .Net was created in order to take filenames that were listed in a CSV file, insert them into SQLite3, run a query to retrieve distinct and pertinent information, and create an HTML page that can be accessed by personnel who require the information.

Project History

• PetroEvents Updates to existing software using classic ASP ASP 3.0 to modify pages and update algorithms before, during and after database access. New images were also created and implemented using Adobe PhotoShop.
• Edit-In-Place VB.Net and DHTML online editor developed to allow simple updates of HTML pages for clients. The tool used jQuery and HTML for the client-side application, then accessed an ASP.Net web component written in VB.Net to check an encrypted xml file for user access, as there was no database. The component registered changes made to the HTML document and rewrote it, thus saving the new HTML.

Project History

• ShipCarsNow.com Public site for Insight Network Logistics INL , a subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad. My responsibilities were to update the site for cross-browser compatibility and ease of use. The site utilized DHTML and required a rework of CSS and JavaScript using the JQuery framework. New graphic elements were created and applied. I was also responsible for designing prototypes for the private portion of the site. The prototypes included a complete graphic realization of the account overview, dashboard design of the order management area and the use-case workflow of the Order Wizard, which had to incorporate a dynamic method of moving vehicles between shipments and shipments between orders within three clicks of a mouse. I was also a key member in Alpha testing software releases for the project.
• Train Control System/Next Generation - Bulk Train Planner Using Agile Development methodology for Union Pacific Railroad, I was responsible for Graphic User Interface elements of various tools. Developed User Interface components in Wicket, and used Java to connect to the Business Layer via messaging components.

Designed as an N-tier application for DB2, the software utilized cross-browser, cross-platform DHTML and XHTML for the UI, and a new framework developed from the Microsoft 2.0 .Net framework. My responsibilities included the development and testing of the JavaScript that was to be used in the UI encompassing an object-oriented approach with four objects that drove the UI, and was part of a team developing base controls that were a bridge between the new framework and the development layer that is to be utilized by future developers, XML message scripting and testing, AJAX scripting and testing, schema designing and development of UI level applications that utilized the new framework and mid-level controls. • Rig Testers Drill Stem Testing Software VB.Net Windows application that utilizes specific Petroleum Industry related algorithms and a SQL Server database to convert raw measurements from field equipment for well drill stem tests, calculates through linear regression well pressure at infinite time , plots different flow and shut-in phases during the test and calculates the invoice for the test.
• DSR-A Drill Stem Test Archiver, developed in VB.Net 2005, is a three-tier web application for archiving and retrieval of drill stem test reports. The software has a security layer, which is maintained by the administrator that uses bitwise operations for verification. The reports themselves are stored into a MS SQL Server database via a webservice and stored procedures which convert pdf, xls and ASCII files as BLOBs when they are uploaded via the tool. The software also utilizes encryption for security and a compression object to keep the database manageable.
• AeroCare Medical Manager ASP.Net VB.Net web application for a medical equipment company to allow representatives centralized access to company wide information, filtered by branch and security levels. The software allowed representatives to create new customers, edit orders, add diagnoses, physicians and insurance providers, maintain customer records and keep inventory. Software conformed to HIPPA standards.

• DynaSurvey Solution Designed and implemented an ASP web-enabled survey software system that was used to measure retention in healthcare and related industries. The software was designed to allow the administrator to custom build surveys with varying number of questions, factors grouped questions and forms related questions while maintaining a consistent process of grading surveys to view the high and low variables for a given survey. An ASP.Net administrator's portal was created and integrated into the site and database that allowed varying security levels of users to create sales, surveys, customers and other users for the software and the company itself.
